Pets

We are learning about pets and are trying to decide which one to get for a class pet. Everyone went in groups and studied a pet. But there was a problem as so many people wanted the pet that they had studied to be the class pet. So we had to do some debates.

It all ended up with doing a class vote. It came down to the Lorikeet so our Teacher did some research on this bird. He found out that they don't like too much noise. So our Teacher is going to ring some Lorikeet breeders to see if they are suitable for a classroom.

I am really excited about getting a pet!!!

Leaves On An Autumn Day

Fragile leaf looping spirals,
In the air.
Weak leaves calling out,
"Its not fair."
Worried leaves crinkled,
In despair.
Golden leaves showing off with,
Its own simple flair.
Cold crisp air flowing,
Prickly and near.

The Bibles Ten Commandments

Hello I am Dominic and I have written about the Ten Commandments to help people make wise choices.

2. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of another god.
3. You shall not use your Lord God name in vein.
4. Remember the sabbath day, work all six days then rest on the seventh.
5. Honour your Father and Mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.

Humility - What is it?

E3 we have talked a little about "Humility" this term. We have learnt that being humble means thinking of others and their needs, putting them before us. The following verse taught us this:

"Don't do anything only to get ahead. Don't do it because you are proud. Instead, be free of pride. Think of others as better than yourselves.
None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others."
Philippians 2:3-4

Have a look at the following picture and read John 13:4-15.
What has this scripture got to do with being humble?

Kiwi's Adventures #1

Kia ora E3!

I have been thinking off you while on holiday overseas and are hoping that you finished Term 1 well with Miss Riggar.

I am sorry I haven't posted for a week. I have been unable to upload photos until now.

I would like to introduce you to Kiwi. He has been traveling with me and loves photo opportunities. It is funny because usually he likes to hide in our bags (he is a bit shy), but when he hears the camera go 'snap' he makes a lot of noise demanding that we include him in the photo.

Anyway - can you answer the following questions by leaving a "Comment"?

Picture 1: Who is this character and where are we?
Picture 2: Canada has a famous ski village. Which one is Kiwi at? (Tip: it is close to Vancouver.)
Picture 3: What is the name of this place in Vancouver?
Picture 4: What ethnic group do these "Totem Poles" belong to?

Our National Anthem

E3 has sang and recorded the New Zealand National Anthem so that we could share it with our friends overseas. We have recorded this version in Maori.

Mrs Jane's Class = Jakarta, Indonesia
Mrs Cofino's ESL Class = Bangkok, Thailand

Push the play button (arrow) on the Animoto slideshow below to listen and view it (you may have to wait while it buffers - be patient).
